I've decided to choose the Ipod as my product for the topic 'New' I felt this best explained America's thrive for something better. There is at least one new ipod every year and each year the ipod continues to get better and better. Here are a few examples of the changes from 2001 to 2009:
These three examples show drastic changes to the ipod, the Apple corporation continues to develop with the launch of the iphone and other products which are still being developed such as the apple mac.
De Crevecoeur's 'Letters from an American farmer' discusses what it is to be an American, and how the farmer sees America as a country. The idea of a 'New' world is discussed as America had the opportunity to start from scratch and the county still wants to continue to get better today. America has almost become a brand with thousands of products being launched everyday or being developed to become newer and better. The ipod is one of these products which is now being sold all around the world, selling the idea of something 'New'.
